About Us

Introducing Nepali Coffee to the World—Starting with Japan

We are one of the forefront pioneers in developing and introducing specialty coffee from Nepal, crafting unique coffee flavor profiles through extensive in-house research and development. Our main purpose is to showcase the best of Nepalese specialty coffee—offering not just an exceptional cup, but a rare yet distinctive experience that reflects the true character of coffee from Nepal.

Our farms are nestled in the scenic districts of Nuwakot and Kavre, where we cultivate Arabica Bourbon, celebrated for its rich, smooth flavor profile. Even though Nepali coffee remains relatively new, unheard of due to its limited production and resources, we believe in the foreseeable future, we will be able to easily tap into the global market. The fact that Himalay is situated on a high-altitude climate, filled with rich nutrient soil, we can manipulate and craft exceptional coffee beans with the collaboration from the local farmers across various regions of Nepal. They have an extensive knowledge and experience on farming that we are striving to learn as much as we can in order to perfect our quality of the coffee beans.

From plant cultivation to in-house roasting and quality assurance, we offer a true farm-to-cup experience driven by craftsmanship and innovation by continuously experimenting with post-harvest methods to enhance cup quality.

Our signature processing techniques include:

Slow Shade-Dried Natural, Pineapple Co-fermentation, XO Bourbon, Extended Washed, Black Honey

These methods allow us to cultivate its vibrancy, fruitiness, and complexity of the flavor profiles—showcasing only the full potential of Himalayan specialty coffee. Therefore, we are proud to represent in bringing Nepal’s finest specialty coffee to the world starting with Japan.

Concept

Sustainability

Grown Together, Rooted in Purpose
Our journey begins in the lush, elevated slopes of Nepal, where we work hand-in-hand with local farming communities to grow coffee the way nature intended—organically and under the protective shade of native trees. Together, we are committed to methods that not only produce rich, flavorful beans but also safeguard the environment and promote biodiversity. Shades are grown to nurture soil health, conserve water, and create natural habitats for birds and wildlife, whilst enhancing and ensuring the quality of every harvest.
This is more than just farming—it is a Shared Mission, by practicing fair trade from the ground up. We also ensure that our local partners are fairly compensated, respected, and empowered. We invest in training, tools, and community development, building a future where sustainable coffee farming uplifts every single party who is involved.
From our hands to your cup, every bean tells a story — a story of unity, collaboration, care, effort, and deep respect for the land we call HOME.

Our History

The origin of coffee cultivation in the Mahabharat area of Kavre, Nepal, is relatively recent but rich in its connection to Nepal’s agricultural practices and growing coffee culture.

The Mahabharat range in Kavre, located to the east of the Kathmandu Valley, is known for its high-altitude terrain, fertile soil, and favorable climatic conditions, which make it ideal for growing coffee. Coffee cultivation in this region began in the 1990s and early 2000s when the Nepalese government, in collaboration with various international organizations, began promoting coffee farming as a viable alternative to traditional crops like rice and maize.

The history of coffee in the Mahabharat area is tied to the broader development of coffee farming in Nepal, which can be traced back to the 19th century. However, it was during the 20th century that coffee growing began to expand in specific regions such as Kavre. Coffee cultivation was introduced by local farmers with support from the Nepal Coffee Development Program, which provided training, resources, and expertise in sustainable and organic farming methods.

The Mahabharat area of Kavre quickly became a prominent region for coffee cultivation due to its unique elevation (ranging between 1,000 and 1,500 meters above sea level), which is considered ideal for Arabica coffee, known for its smooth, balanced flavors. The area’s moderate temperatures, rich soil, and seasonal rainfall contribute to the growth of coffee beans with distinct, nuanced flavor profiles, ranging from floral and fruity to earthy and spicy notes.

Additionally, farmers in Kavre began using traditional, organic, and shade-grown methods to grow their coffee, ensuring that the plants thrive without harmful chemicals. This also helps preserve the environment and supports biodiversity. The coffee grown here has slowly gained recognition for its high quality, and in recent years, coffee from the Mahabharat region of Kavre has begun to receive national and international acclaim, making it a vital part of Nepal’s growing coffee export industry.
